question Who’s got a couple of solid runners for the arvo?

Been through the form this morning and there’s a few that look alright, but I’m trying not to talk myself into half the card like a drongo. More keen on horses that map clean and get the right tempo than just following the shortest thing in the market.

Anyone found a couple they really like today? Could be a safe one, could be a roughie each-way, whatever as long as there’s a proper reason behind it. Track pattern stuff, jockey change, drop in grade, good sectionals last start... chuck it in.

I’m especially interested if anyone’s seeing value that the market hasn’t fully clipped yet. Always good to hear what other punters are looking at before the prices get hammered.

same here. You reckon barrier and early position are worth more than the big late splits once the day starts looking a bit on-pace? I've talked myself into a few backmarkers lately off nice sectionals and they were basically gone at the bend.

Good point on the backmarkers. What do you all do with one that's easing in the market but the replay looked really strong? I always freeze there a bit, like do I trust what I saw or just accept the market is telling me something.

I mostly sit on my hands for the first race or two now. Got burned a few times going in early off the form guide, then by the arvo it was obvious the ones making ground were the only things I wanted to be with. Since then I care way more about how it's playing live than whatever I convinced myself of in the morning.

I've actually done better lately with the horses coming out of properly run races, even if they didn't finish right on top of them. Those quiet runs behind a crawl can flatter a few. anyone else keep little notes on which replays were just fake fast finishes?
