question Has anyone found a betting method that still holds up mid-season?

Been going down a bit of a rabbit hole lately with different ways people structure their bets on footy and other stuff - flat staking, percentage of bankroll, little progressions after a loss, that sort of thing.

I get why some of them sound good when you're reading about them, especially when the examples are all neat and tidy, but once you chuck real matches into it and the AFL/NRL starts doing weird AFL/NRL things... not so simple hey.

Curious what you lot actually use, if anything. Do you stick to one set approach the whole season or just wing it based on confidence? And has anyone here had a method that genuinely lasted more than a few rounds without going off the rails?

Also keen to know if people reckon the staking part matters more than the actual picks. Feels like heaps of punters focus on finding winners but the bigger difference might be not doing your stack after one bad arvo.

Not chasing miracle stuff or some bloke on YouTube selling the next big thing lol, just wondering what real punters here have tried and what fell apart once variance kicked in.

Yep, that's the bit I agree with most. I can cop being wrong on a few games if the stake size stays sane. I'd be keen to know who here tracks the price they took against where it closed, because that exposes a 'method' pretty quick.
